Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Pretty, Happy, Funny, Real

Pretty

So there was no wind in Juneau during the fireworks this year. A smoke cloud covered much of the show and kind of just hung over the channel.  You could hear the booming echoing through the mountains and travel over the ice fields, it is PRETTY cool.  I never dreamed of needing to bundle my kids up in fleece throws to watch fireworks in July...but such is life in the last frontier!

Kind of Judgement Day - ish looking

Jellyfish?

We have fireworks at midnight on July 3rd going into July 4th.  Alaska doesn't get dark enough to do the show any earlier...but my poor littles were sooooo tired!!!!
Slept through the whole show

Happy

Wow! It hit me that four IS a large family, look at us hogging ALL the swings :)

Funny

Our new game we play with baby brother...since we have had no luck catching any king salmon so far this summer.

Do you see how round his face his??? I love kissing those chunky cheeks!

Real

We are getting new cabinets for the kitchen.  This has been challenging in terms of what normal day to day life looks like. My second little is having her fifth birthday tomorrow so I pray all goes well.

  1. Fireworks at midnight! I never thought about that. It's hard enough to keep everyone happy until 9!

  2. We are also in the midst of a kitchen redo and it messes with everything! I hope it doesn't throw off your routine, or birthday plans too much.

  3. Wow! There weren't any here this year because of the wildfires, so we watched the NY and DC ones on TV at 8 pm and went to bed. Hope the birthday party is fun!

  4. We used to play "Fishing For Baby" too! Sort of like teasing a cat with some yarn and some string...
